MARTEC atomized powders are Nickel alloy metal pellets.
Powder alloys are intended for hardfacing with spraying equipment: the powder is fed into the flame from a hopper attached to the torch. With this process the powder melts and binds together to the surface.
Nickel-based alloys contain usually Nickel, Chromium, Boron and Silicon.
Boron and Silicon are good fluxing elements.
The hardness of alloys depends on the Chromium-Boron-Silicon content.
Hardfacing with powders is suitable for:
- repairing steel or cast iron parts,
- protecting new parts and tools,
- renovating worn tools.
